West Country Shutters is run by husband and wife team Duncan and Gules Cleere…. We strive to bring professional expertise together with a relaxed, creative approach in any project we undertake.

We formed West Country Shutters back in 1999. Duncan had previously trained at the V & A and became a specialist painter back in the 1980’s. Returning to his roots in the West Country in the early ‘90’s he continued this work and at his customers request began taking on design and project management work. Whilst growing his business Duncan was a regular guest lecturer on Interior Design Courses run in Somerset. Before meeting Duncan, Gules worked tirelessly as a very popular and sought after ‘super nanny’ in Hertfordshire.

Bringing our diverse talents together and forming our business has given us masses of experience and confidence to tackle all manner of projects and adding custom made plantation shutters to our portfolio over 5 years ago was a great move.

We are based in Taunton, Somerset and can undertake your shutter transformation in Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Ilfracombe, Newquay, Plymouth and many more places…. In fact we are Somerset shutters, Devon shutters, Dorset shutters and Cornwall shutters! We aim to give our West Country clients a superb shutter service from initial consultation through to Installation.

From our background as interior designers we bring a perspective and a unique vision that enables us to give excellent guidance and advice on what will work best for you in your home.

This is combined with excellent product knowledge, expert installation and attention to detail throughout.
