Tier on tier plantation shutters in Dundee Kitchen

Search for ‘shutters Scotland’ or ‘shutters Dundee’ and you will find the search results throw up a host of different shutter companies claiming to be experts. The Glasgow Shutter Company, while not based in Dundee, offer their services over the majority of Scotland and is committed to delivering the highest level of service and design expertise to all their customers.
This attention to detail can be seen here at a customers home in Dundee who had The Glasgow Shutter Company install tier on tier plantation shutters in their kitchen. Look closely at the photo and you will see that the sink is directly in front of the window, with the tap ‘sticking up’ into the window area.
This could make opening the kitchen shutters irksome. The shutter team here suggested going with a tier on tier shutters design where the panels are divided horizontally and can be swung open on the top section while leaving the lower panels in position. That way, the tier on tier panels on the top will not be in danger of hitting anything when they open and will be out of the way when the customer wants to open the panels.
This shutter company is based in Glasgow, but travelled to Dundee to visit this customer. The tap issue also dictated a design where there are 4 narrower panels which will bifold and avoid hitting the tap. While narrow panels can reduce the amount of light into the room, due to the increased number of vertical pieces of wood, the team advised using larger 89mm slats in addition to the tier on tier design, to maximise light flow into the kitchen.
