Professionalism and quality are at the forefront of family run WestWay Shutters ethos. With 25 years experience of window treatments in South and West Wales and parts of Sussex, they understand that they are not just selling a service, they are making it a part of your home.
WestWay Shutters recently installed these tier on tier plantation shutters in a townhouse in Swansea, South Wales for a customer who was looking to update their home and give it a modern look.
The customer had already chosen their updated décor and the shutters were the final element to finish off the look. Westway Shutters introduced to the customer the idea of Tier on tier shutters in a simple white. The shutters are designed so that they have a top section of shutters sitting on top of a lower section of shutter panels. This tiered, or double hung, effect works in this dining room. The dining room window is quite tall and looks straight out onto a street with housing directly opposite.
Tier on Tier shutters is a brilliant design on these tall townhouse windows, as the customer can open the top tier of shutters right back to flood the room with light, yet keep the bottom tier of shutters closed to maintain a sense of privacy and intimacy whilst dining with family.
Choosing a bright white for the shutter colour helps increase the light as it reflects off the slats and into the room diffusing the light which can really help in a room which doesn’t get much light. Opting for 4 panels meant that the shutters lined up perfectly with the design of the window giving a really streamlined look. Shutter colours and different styles can really effect the feel of the room, so having one of the WestWay team out to visit the property and offer their expertise and suggestions will mean that you make the most of your windows with white shutters.
