This Barnsley home was a period property with thick walls and as you can see there this resulted in a nice deep window recess. This was a hallway window and the customer wanted privacy in this space, to stop passersby looking directly into their home. As such the Shutterly Fabulous team advised that having 1, larger, wide shutter panel on the window would be advisable. The panels would not be opened unless to access the window for cleaning or to open the window, therefore using a single panel would help make the window appear bigger.

With the period features of this Yorkshire home, a white wood shutter would just not have looked right. A stained shutter in a light oak hue complimented the décor much more sympathetically and added warmth to the overall space.
