Slatted FSC certified Shutters in Aberdeen, Scotland

Few shutter companies sell plantation shutters that are made from wood approved by the Forest Stewardship Council – or to offer a term more commonly used – FSC approved hardwood.
Scottish shutters specialists, The Glasgow Shutter Company sell shutters made from wood approved by the FSC. This means that the wood used to make the shutters has been harvested in a way which does not negatively impact the environment. That means that you can purchase your wooden FSC shutters safe in the knowledge that by improving the look of your home and windows, you are doing so in a way which is sympathetic to world’s woodlands.
This photo features slatted shutters that have been installed on a large lounge window. With a total of 8 shutter panels (hinged to open 4 panels to the left and 4 over to the right), the overall width of this window is large, around 8 ft. As is often the case with wooden shutters, when installed, the customer is prone to simply tilt and adjust the louvers rather than open the panels. As this particular window was in Aberdeen, where light is often at a premium, using moveable slatted shutters was preferable to solid shutters which would certainly block out the light and make the room dark.
The slats here are 89mm (or 3 1/2” in ‘old money’). This slat size for shutters is becoming more popular than the 64mm slat as it allows more light to enter into the room and gives clearer views through the slats.
You can also see in the photo of the shutters in this Aberdeen customers home that they have been made with hidden tilt rods. Simply hold any one of the blades on the slatted shutters and you can open and close them. Get a free shutter quote, from the Scottish shutters specialists.
