Purchasing a new home is a big step, it’s a shell where you have the freedom to make it look how you want, and use the furnishings you want. To get the window coverings absolutely right, this customer in Lyme Regis sourced the services of West Country Shutters to help with the design and installation of shutters for their Dorset home.

Their kitchen/dining area was built with large French doors opening out to the patio, and the customer needed advise as to whether plantation shutters for French Doors were a good idea and if they genuinely could work.

Although it was the largest shutter project for West Country Shutters to date, with 25 full height window shutters and 2 sets of French door shutters, the Interior Design team had a request from the customer for a clean and “un fussy” design, and shutters were the obvious option.

The French doors have full height shutters with the 89mm slats which have been fitted with the Open Sky Push Rod option, giving a clear view through the simple and neat design out to the garden beyond. The colour choice was obvious, a soft shade of Cloudy White to bring a sense of calm, without the sterile glare of a Bright White shutter choice, the Dorset shutters really give the French Door shutters a seamless finish.

The interior design service was not only for the window treatments but the same “un fussy” look was adopted throughout the rest of the Dorest property with inspiration from Cleere Interiors and tips and resources so that the customer had the perfect furnishing to go with their shutters in their new Lyme Regis home.
