Shutterly Fabulous were recently invited to quote to fit plantation shutters in a house in Finchley, London. The owner was looking for a London plantation shutter company to undertake the work. The house inside had been kitted out as a real bachelor pad and the guy who owned it had spent a lot of time and money getting the place how he wanted it.

The customer was very specific about how he wanted the shutters to look and most importantly, how they were to be installed. To the front of the house, it was a typical 1920’s house that you’d find in Finchley. The plantation shutters that were fitted here were fairly standard and were installed to fit inside the window recess. Installing this way means that you can still use the window sill and it’s not hidden behind the plantation shutters when they’re installed. When helping customers choose the best design for their shutters, the consultants always try and get the point across that when the shutters are actually installed; it’s rare that the panels are opened back. People tend to leave the panels closed over and therefore what’s the point in having the shutters at the front of the recess and loosing the sill?

Shutters were a great solution as it enabled the customer to have the slats tilted and loose the un- slightly views. Shutterly Fabulous love jobs like this as the customer knew exactly what he wanted and was very specific about how to install the plantation shutter panels.

The end result was that the shutters were integrated and actually looked like they were built along with the windows. The customer clearly recognised that although based in Brighton, Shutterly Fabulous is rightfully considered by many Londoner’s to be the London Shutter Company.
