Loft conversion wooden shutters from Scotland’s Premier Shutter Company

Factory conversions and loft style apartments create unique living spaces. Original brickwork, concrete flooring and exposed pipework all add to the authenticity that make such living spaces desirable.
The Glasgow Shutter Company covers all of Scotland and recently installed these wooden plantation shutters in a factory conversion along the Clyde Coast, in South Ayrshire. The window frames used in the conversion were dark, therefore the customer wanted wood stained shutters in a colour which would blend in, not only with the window frames but also tie in to the tone of the exposed brick.
A clever design element on these wood shutters is that the Glasgow Shutter Company consultant advised the customer to have full height panels with a mid rail. A mid rail is the term applied to the horizontal piece of wood, within the structure of the shutter panels, which has the effect of giving independent control of the shutter slats above and below this point. This Ayrshire apartment was on the ground floor with people walking past and compromising the privacy for the customer. The window shutters designed here, enable the customer to tilt the slats at a slight angle on the bottom (stopping people seeing in) but leaving the blades open on the top, for a great view and maximum light.
By going with narrower, tall panels, this helps accentuate the height of these windows and add to the impressive features of this loft home.
Wherever you live in Scotland, be it along the Clyde Coast, Ayrshire or Glasgow itself, contact the team and they would be happy to visit your home to provide a no obligation consultation.
