Interior French Shutters fitted by Shutterly Fabulous, the Kent Shutter Company

While shutters for windows have become commonly known in recent years as ‘plantation’ shutters, their origin can be traced back closer to home, to Europe. Visit the continent and French Shutters would be a more apt name to apply to the window treatment as shown in this image.
French shutters are most typically installed on the outside of a building and traditionally are made from wood. Over recent years French style shutters have seen the introduction of composites for manufacture, along with metals. However, whatever material is used to make exterior shutters in France, the louvered slat design is very similar to that seen on interior plantation shutters that have become popular here in the UK.
This photo shows these French style shutters installed on a window by leading specialists, Shutterly Fabulous. This company is based in the South East, with Kent a busy country for the company. Maidstone, Kent often sees a member of the Shutterly Fabulous design team visiting a customer offering a free design consultation, helping them to create the perfect window treatment for their home.
The colour of these blue shutters helps create that French feel. Light, airy colors such as light blues and whites help create that continental feel and Shutterly Fabulous offers a large range of standard and custom paint colours for you to choose from.
The shutters here are installed as an inside mount, inside the window recess. There are 2 panels and they have 2 1/2” louvers with a front facing push rod. A Design Consultant from Shutterly Fabulous can help advise you on the best design for your windows, whatever your style or décor preferences.
