Solid Shutters Aid Restful Sleep
Many Victorian houses were built with large sash windows or doors with solid shutters attached which folded into boxed housings at the side of them. Although solid window shutters are not as popular as they once were, there is still a use for them in certain situations. Solid panel shutters are often used on the bottom of sash windows when the window is say, close to a road or can be overlooked. Interior panelled shutters are ideal for bedrooms - giving virtually total blackout for sleeping – perfect for babies or shift workers.
Solid shutters can make a style statement in many homes, particularly if they are coloured specifically to match the decor.
Solid shutter panels can also be used as great room dividers. They come in a variety of styles so that you are not restricted to having just one look. We can offer you the traditional Shaker style which has panels with a top & bottom rail, stiles at the sides and a flat panel in the middle. We also have the Raised style which has the same top & bottom rails and side stiles but has a shaped, raised centre panel. The Double Raised shutters have this raised panel on both sides of the shutter panel.
The stiles on solid panel shutters panels overlap slightly so that light doesn’t come between the panels – couple this with a 4 sided frame and your light blockage will be as good as it can be for a great nights sleep. The solid panels also act as great sound insulation to add to that dream of a perfect nights sleep…………. Zzzzzzzzzz
