Plantation Shutters for Doors
Plantation Shutters for Doors can have a regular frame or be installed using tracks on which the shutter panels will either slide or fold and slide. Installing plantation shutters on french doors is an elegant alternative to the typical vertical blind or heavy drape treatment. Shutters for French Doors eliminate the ‘banging’ of blinds when the doors are opened and closed as the shutter panels can be mounted directly onto the face of the door over the glass area. Whether your doors are inward or outward opening, French doors or sliding doors, there will be an option available that will allow full access to your doors as our plantation shutters are all custom made to suit your personal requirements.
Depending on how you intend to use your shutters will govern whether you require track shutters or conventional shutters. Conventional shutters are hinged to a three or four sided frame and would be adequate for doors which will be covered the majority of the time. If you are planning to have the panels folded back, perhaps to take advantage of a view, or your opening is over 3000mm wide, you should consider a track shutter installation. Track shutters are mounted on glides which allow the shutter panels to concertina against the recess allowing the doors and any view to be fully visible.
We can also manufacture panels which have solid bottom sections and regular shutter slats on the top section. If you have large handles on your French doors we can make them fully accessible by manufacturing handle cut-outs on the shutter panels. Your shutter surveyor will be able to advise the best option for installing plantation shutters on your doors.
